CRASH COURSE IN DEATH, Part 2: Summary from Middletown, CT

Crash Course in DeathWe went to a house in Middletown, CT where the residents were experiencing all sorts of phenomena. This is Part Two of the story about what occurred during our visit, based on our readings, observations and experiences. For best results, read Part One first. You can also see the video.

We were still in the basement with Victor, and continued to ask him questions:

How did you feel about your grandfather? A-hole.
Did you live with your grandparents? No.
See them a lot? Saw Grandma a lot. She understood me and accepted me for who I am.
You spent a lot of time with Grandma? Yes.
Closer to grandmother? Yes.
Did you have any close friends? No.
Close to any others in the family? No.
Do you have any unfinished business? No.

After finishing the questions, I had an idea of what the plan was going to be. He missed his grandmother, and truly regretted not being able to talk with her. As he told us that she was the only one that really understood him, I was sure that the desire to talk to her again would be strong enough to encourage him to move on.

Or so I thought.

DSC02435Over the course of the next hour, Victor and I went back and forth between him missing his grandmother and the reasons he was staying in the house. As we talked about his grandmother, Crystal could see and feel him getting upset, and that he was on the verge of tears (however that works for a spirit, that is). But he kept changing the subject and going back to what interested him in the house, and how he wanted to stay. He started to drift away from thoughts of his grandmother.

In my mind, I was thinking he was not going to leave.

We then caught a break.

In trying to steer the conversation back to his grandmother, he asked if the thing that kept him in the house would also be on the other side. I told him that I really didn’t want to tell him that, but yes, it would be. And that was enough.

As we followed Victor to where the light was, he began to see his grandmother, and many other people moving around. Crystal heard him say “Meema” when he recognized her, but he would not go. He insisted I go through the light first. I pushed myself up against the wall in the basement — I didn’t go through. He then told Crystal that he was afraid, and he thought he would drop straight down once he stepped into the light, as if there was a cliff. We continued to tell him to go, and Crystal saw his grandmother extend her hand out to him. Instead of going in, he tried to pull his grandmother back to our side. Needless to say, that didn’t work too well. After a few more minutes of coercing, he finally agreed to go. Crystal saw him move toward the light, and we believed he was gone.

But not quite.

Crystal noticed that the light was still there. She asked me if I had ever heard of anything like this before, and I told her no. We just looked at each other for a few minutes with confused looks on our faces. Crystal then asked me to call for him.

“Victor?”

No response.

Crystal then said “Can you go through the light and leave?”

“I did you idiot!”

DSC02424He was trying to trick us into believing he left. He hid from us, and we’re still not sure how he managed to do it. But I believed he knew we wouldn’t stop until he had left, and seeing his grandmother became too compelling for him to turn away. Within a few moments, he was gone.

Andy

After taking a few minutes to breathe, we went upstairs to talk with Andy. Now that Victor was gone, Andy seemed much happier and did not feel like he had to hide anymore. As Andy was only trying to get someone’s attention, the residents did not feel he was a threat. Crystal and I did not pick up any bad feelings from him, and the residents decided he could stay if he wanted.

We started the EVP session to find out more about Andy.

DSC02418After this session, the clients agreed that it would be best to help Andy pass through the light, as he missed his mom. We asked him if he knew where the light was, and Crystal told us it was in another bedroom. We led him to this room, and asked if he could see anyone in the light. As he went closer to it, Crystal told us he could see his sister, wearing the same thick glasses as Andy. He reached out to his sister, said goodbye, and was gone.

In our research after the investigation, we were unable to locate a Middletown Elementary. We were only able to find Bielefield Elementary School.

The children in the house are reported to be much more comfortable, and are no longer feeling like they are being watched.

The scratching on the couch has continued — the mother reports that it happened for over 20 minutes recently. We believe this is probably non-paranormal and will investigate further.

It is possible that Andy’s sister did not pass – Andy’s spirit guide may have appeared as his sister to make him more comfortable when entering the light.

Alfred

Earlier in our original scan of the house, we came across a friendly spirit that liked to be called Alfred. Alfred stayed in a room that overlooked the backyard, and was there to guard his steel box. He wouldn’t leave this room, or tell us what was in the box. Crystal and I agreed that he was no real danger, and we told him we would return to help him retrieve his treasure.

When we returned, we conducted an EVP session with Alfred.

What is your name? Alfred Hitchcock (I had been talking like Alfred Hitchcock earlier)
Why are you here? Why not, my dear.

Did you like teaching history, Very much
What’s in the box? Big secret!
Where is the box? In the backyard – I’ll show Crystal.
Is it near the stone wall (wall in backyard)? No

We then tried to see if he could identify where he was.

What could possibly be in that box? We really wanted to know at this point.

We went outside, and Alfred led Crystal to the location of the box. We followed and marked the spot, and asked the client if it was okay to return to see if there was actually a metal box buried in that location. We left Alfred in the rear bedroom and concluded the investigation.

After the investigation, we did some research. Based on some of the details we received from Alfred, we tried to find out who he really was.

The coincidences were, to say the least, surprising.
