The ghost hunting business is not glamorous. Television makes it look that way through the magic of editing. Even our videos through GHPS are edited; what you see in a five minute video could have easily been a 2 hour piece of the investigation.
The work doesn’t stop after the investigation. Sifting through hours of video and audio recording, hundreds of photographs, and reading pages of notes is done all on our free time…for free.
Since I’m doing a terrible job selling ghost hunting as an attractive prospect, I will glean for you the once sense of a company “perk” we at GHPS have. The allure of traveling for those of us who have done it for work is minimal, but every once in awhile you are able to visit a cool place and see something you may not have otherwise had the opportunity.
Knowing GHPS would be heading to Baltimore in January, I made but one request – which is difficult because Baltimore is a seriously awesome city full of great restaurants (thank you G&M) and, of course, shopping on the wharf. To frivolously spend money however, was not my request, and I was much relieved that Darlene had in fact made the same suggestion.
Charm City Cakes is the beloved bakery who invites us into their mad workings on a weekly basis through Food Network’s Ace of Cakes. Seriously, anyone that can put motors in cakes and make them work is automatically awesome in my book. It was Baltimore’s ultimate treasure, and so as our reward for a lengthy 6-hour home investigation the previous day, we stopped by Charm City Cakes. Since we’re a paranormal investigation group, we thrive on evidence, which will be henceforth provided to you:
All in all, our trip to Baltimore was brief but welcoming. We met some kind, appreciative clients, ate a stellar meal, rescued a dog, and finally, got to embarrass our group leader by doing touristy things. I think I can safely speak for the group by saying we’d go back any time.
The dog in the last photo we named “Bucket.” We found her in the middle of Washington Blvd, with a bucket over her head. She was just sitting there, as she couldn’t see because the bucket was stuck over her head. She was cold and shivering, and we brought her to Main St. Animal Hospital in Reisterstown. The owner found her a week later.
Love the article Sara. Good job. So happy we got to go to charm city, that I don’t even mind that every picture of me I still have bed head. And saving Bucket was just one more bonus to the trip.
Okay but how were the doughnuts?
