In this final part of our Southington followup, this one takes place in the attic and a spare room in the client’s house. In the spare room, we came across a wandering spirit — or shall I say he came across us.
As in Part 1 and Part 2, the following is a transcript of the messages received by both Crystal and Michael, taken directly from notes and recordings from the investigation. Also included is dialog with any additional investigators. All notes are in chronological order.
The Attic
Homeowner 2: Maggie are you up here tonight? No, Crystal she’s not here?
Crystal: Someone is saying ‘why did she go?’
Homeowner 2: Why did who go? Her mother was Samantha right?
Crystal: ‘Yeah’
Homeowner 2: Samantha is downstairs. Are you playing with your dolls tonight?
Crystal: I believe her mother left when she was little
Homeowner 2: Right after Samuel right?
Crystal: ‘Yes’
Homeowner 2: Maggie do you remember us from last time? If you do talk to Crystal
Crystal: She wants to know where her mother is
Homeowner 2: I don’t know where her mom is
Michael: Did you used to see your mother here? Has it been a really long time since you’ve seen your mom? She might not know.
Crystal: Where is her mother?
Homeowner 2: I thought her mother was Samantha that was the one that was downstairs that baked. Didn’t we tell her she could go downstairs and see her mom?
Crystal: Yeah. So, your mom is downstairs, you don’t have to stay in the attic, you can go downstairs and see her
Homeowner 2: Is she playing with her dolls?
Crystal: I think she always carries a doll around. I think she should leave the attic and go downstairs and not be up here by herself.
Michael: You don’t have to be up here by yourself anymore. You can go downstairs.
Crystal: She said ‘ok’
Michael: Do you know how to get there?
Crystal: I can see a picture of her going down the steps.
Homeowner 2: Maggie do you remember I told you I have a dollhouse downstairs and you wanted to play with it? Did you go downstairs?
Michael: She went down. I think.
Crystal: Yeah, she went downstairs.
Michael: What I was feeling, I’m not feeling now.
Crystal: I just wanted to confirm that with you.
Michael: I could feel her missing her mom in my stomach and when she did that, the feeling went away.
Crystal: I saw the picture of her leaving in my head and I just wanted to see if you picked up on it too.
Michael: I felt it go away
Crystal: Do you think anyone else is up here?
Michael: Right now? Because we had that audio on there.
Crystal: The voice. Who do you think made that voice?
Michael: I don’t know but now I’m starting to feel a little… again.
Crystal: Maggie went downstairs but there could be somebody else up here.
Michael: Who else is up here?
Crystal: Who is the one who put that voice on the recorder and let Michael hear it? Could you give us another message with your voice?
Homeowner 2: Are you the one that hums and sings songs?
Michael: Can you tell us your name? Is there anything you’d like to tell us?
Crystal: I’m getting nothing
Michael: I got nothing.
Homeowner 2: I can’t believe you guys are moving them all around on me. I can’t keep it straight now.
Room next to master bedroom (spare room)
Michael: Mmm hmm. Ooh yeah. Ewww
Homeowner 2: It’s not a good person?
Michael: No, it’s not that.
Crystal: It’s an artist!
Michael: There may be more than one then.
Crystal: (to Michael) you have to sit on my left
Michael: Hahahaha, I didn’t realize that
Homeowner 2: What’s the artist’s name? Did she like to draw or paint?
Crystal: Last time she said she paints.
Guest Investigator: What’s your name?
Homeowner 2: What do you paint? What kind of pictures?
Crystal: Abstract funny looking things
Homeowner 2: I like that kind of art. Did you ever sell any?
Crystal: ‘To friends’
Homeowner 2: Did you hide any in the house somewhere?
Guest Investigator: Did you paint anything on the walls?
Crystal: She’s not very strong
Michael: No not at all
Homeowner 2: It’s kind of weird though because this was all one room when we bought the house. That wall, we added.
Michael: There’s something else here though but I don’t think its talking.
Homeowner 2: Is there anybody else here? Besides the painter? Jack’s not back, is he?
Michael: No
Homeowner 2: Because he was a pest!
Crystal: ‘The power went off.’ That’s what the ghost said.
Michael: It wasn’t her though? Not the artist?
Crystal: No it was someone else
Homeowner 2: Was there a storm when the power went out?
Crystal: ‘Yeah’. Looks like a tree came down
Michael: Did it hit the house?
Crystal: Yeah, or a wire near the house or something. He said ‘what are you doing here?’
Homeowner 2: Trying to talk to you
Michael: Can you hear anything at all?
Crystal: It must have been a snowstorm because the car was sliding
Homeowner 2: Is Samantha here? How about Maggie? Are you playing with the dollhouse Maggie? Crystal, you don’t feel Maggie here?
Crystal: ‘No’
Homeowner 2: Did she go all the way downstairs?
Crystal: Haha, maybe
Michael: Maybe she did. I feel one. I think it’s a guy, dark hair, short
Crystal: Is there a zoo around here? He says he used to work at the zoo.
Michael: Bridgeport
Guest Investigator: Beardsley Zoo
Homeowner 2: There’s that little one in West Hartford, at the science center
Crystal: He says, ‘I didn’t know any better’
Michael: If I can connect some dots, that might be why my stomach is feeling icky. It’s something he did or something that happened. What did he do?
Crystal: Something about ‘pushing it to the limits’
Michael: Did you hurt yourself?
Crystal: ‘Yeah’
Guest Investigator: Were you racing?
Crystal: No. he was pushing his luck to the limits
Michael: Did you hurt anybody else while you were doing that?
Crystal: ‘No’
Guest Investigator: Were you doing drugs?
Crystal: No. It was just something stupid.
Michael: Was that him skidding out of control?
Crystal: Yeah, but I don’t think that is what he is talking about.
Michael: He did something else.
Crystal: ‘Yeah’
Guest Investigator: Were you drinking at the time you were doing it?
Crystal: No. Maybe it was a dare.
Michael: I’m getting that it didn’t involve drugs or alcohol. It was just something that he thought he could do, but it killed him. Driving… maybe..
Crystal: I’m getting the possibility of walking on ice
Guest Investigator: Was he trying to save someone?
Crystal & Michael: ‘No’
Crystal: He was just doing stupid stuff
Michael: It was an act of stupidity
Homeowner 2: Did he drown?
Crystal: I think he did
Michael: Well you know not to do that again right?
Guest Investigator: Did you lose something or were you looking for something?
Crystal: No he was just
Michael: Just being stupid. He regrets it. Probably mad at himself, he’s not happy with himself obviously. He feels like he’s an idiot.
Crystal: He was just pushing his luck for no reason. Possibly that dare.
Guest Investigator: Were you in school, high school
Crystal: No, I think he is older
Michael: Yeah… I got a no on that one. I wonder if he hit his head too.. I’ve got a headache
Guest Investigator: Were you by yourself when this happened?
Crystal: There were people but they were far away
Guest Investigator: Did anyone try to save you?
Michael: I think it was too late
Crystal: Yep. Oh my head hurts too. Right here
Michael: Right here, yep. Well what can we do for you? Do you just need somebody to talk to? We’ll talk to you. You can’t undo what you did. But, we might be able to help you.
Crystal: ‘It’s so boring.’
Michael: He’s bored? Have you been staying in this house or have you been floating around other places?
Crystal: ‘Floating around.’
Michael: Is this the first time you’ve been here?
Crystal: ‘Yeah’
Michael: Yeah, I kind of had a feeling. We can show you how to get out of here. Do you want to go somewhere where you’re not bored?
Crystal: ‘Yeah’
Michael: You should be seeing a light near you. If you see that light, it’s going to be a few short moments. Then you will be met by someone you know, probably someone very close to you. Then you can actually come back here and go back there. You will have your freedom completely back and be with people that you know and play games and you won’t be bored anymore. But you have to find that light. It’s the only way you’re going to be able to end this boredom which will pretty much be almost forever unless you find the light. So do you see a light anywhere near you? Or are you afraid of going thru it or you didn’t know what it was?
Crystal: He saw it a long time ago
Michael: That was where you were supposed to go. Its’ still got to be somewhere near you. You’re going to have to keep looking for it. You may have to go back to where you first saw it. Do you remember where you saw it?
Crystal: ‘Outside somewhere.’ Is there any particular reason that he wants to stay here?
Michael: Do you feel like you have to finish something?
Crystal: He’s angry at somebody.. He’s blaming somebody for the stupid thing he did
Michael: You can be angry that’s not going to change anything. What you can do is change your future
Crystal: He says he has a brother
Michael: Do you visit your brother?
Crystal: I don’t know
Michael: Do you want to watch out for your brother?
Crystal: I think his brother is dead
Michael: You see that light, your brother is on the other side of that as well. That’s your goal, that’s what you want to find. You’re not going to be able to get any kind of revenge. Revenge isn’t what you want to do anyway. I’d say personally, I would want to stop being bored. Is your brother keeping you here?
Crystal: No, he wants to see his brother.
Michael: It’s the light baby, it’s the light
Crystal: Ok he’ll find it. He says he thinks he knows where it is.
Michael: Ok good, find it, go see your brother, I’m sure he misses you too.
Crystal: He’s like thank you man.
Michael: You’re welcome man, my pleasure. You don’t want to tell us your name?
Crystal: ‘Kevin’
Michael: Kevin, it’s a pleasure meeting you. Alright go find that light. I’m sure you’ll find it soon. And you’ll see your brother soon. Hang in there man.
Crystal: He’s……. Gone
Michael: We’re done.
