MURDER & MANIPULATION? Summary from Baltimore MD, Part 2

The group went to a home in Baltimore, Maryland, where the entire family had been experiencing phenomena for some time. This is Part 2 of the story about what occurred during our visit, based on our readings, observations and experiences. Read Part 1 first for best results.

Before the group began any EVP sessions, we discussed with the client what we had discovered. She decided that she did not want to take any chances whatsoever – she wanted each spirit we had found to pass through. Concern for her daughter was foremost on her mind – and ours as well.

We entered the little girl’s room again, and asked Jacob if we could ask him a few questions.

He said, to Crystal, “How else was I supposed to make them pay for what they did? It was the only option that I had.”

Jacob’s wife had been murdered. He told Crystal, “You make them pay.”

Darlene then started asking questions for the EVP session.

What is your name? Jackie
Why are you here? Someone needs to make them pay for killing my wife.
Are you waiting for something or someone? I’m working on getting revenge.
Did you live here? NO.
Do you want to leave here? F**k off!
Were you married? Yes. What was her name? Isabella.

This was the same name as the child.

Did you have children? Not yet.
What did you do for work? That doesn’t matter now.
Are you angry or happy? F**k off.
Are you sad or lonely? Screw you, b**ch!

We’d heard worse.

Are you in any pain? Yes.
Do you know what year it is? 1999.
Do you know where you are? Not exactly.
What year were you born? 1931. Your birthday? June 1.
Where did you grow up? Rockland County.
How did you pass away? I don’t know.
Were you religious? Yes, but not after Isabella died.

Crystal said that we should ask him again about his profession. I asked him this time.

Attorney.

His answer made me think it might explain why he was so headstrong.

Darlene continued to ask questions.

Why did you hurt Isabella in the bathroom? She wouldn’t do what I told her to do.
And what was that? Go find them.

Darlene then asked, “What name does the daughter call you? Is it a girl’s name?”

Jacob didn’t answer this question. And the meter started going off.

Crystal confirmed that Jacob was very angry and upset, and was taking it out on the mother and daughter. Darlene went on to ask, “Why do you want to hurt the parents? They don’t know anything about your wife.” He repeated to Crystal that he’s mean because the little girl won’t do what he wants her to do, wanted to make them pay for what they did, and wanted help in finding those responsible for killing his wife.

He then said to Crystal, “I want my Isabella.”

That was the key.

We told Jacob about the light, and let him know that this was the only way for him to be reunited with his Isabella. Wanting so badly to see her again, he told Crystal that he had nothing to lose by giving it a try – and was willing to take that chance.

I asked Jacob if he had seen a bright light anywhere – he had, and told Crystal its location. Of course, it was in the most inconvenient place in the entire house – the attic. Climbing a ladder in the upstairs hallway, Crystal and I crawled into the attic through an opening, trying not to hit our heads on the roof or falling through the insulation beneath us. Once we brought Jacob into the attic, Crystal and I had him look for and call to his wife. He called, “Where are you,” and it didn’t take long – he was able to find her quickly.

He moved into the light, and together they walked off into the shadows of the rafters. However, Sara and the homeowner still remained skeptical. For a spirit that started out so secretive and downright mean, it seemed to them to be a bit too easy.

Nevertheless, we climbed down from the attic, and I was pointed towards the basement. I couldn’t shake the feeling that we had to deal with Matthew before Alfred.

– – –

We entered the basement to help Matthew. Calling to him, Crystal was now hearing his name as Alexander. He was crouched on the floor, so I gave him my hand. Crystal and I tried to have him stand up – but to no avail. He wouldn’t budge.

Darlene suggested we continue with the EVP session anyway. She asked him if it was okay to ask him a few questions, and he agreed. Crystal was sensing that he was relieved that Jacob was gone.

What is your name? Matthew.

Back to Matthew again.

Why are you here? I lived here.
Are you waiting for something? No.
Did you live here? Five years.
Are there any other spirits here? I’m so glad you got rid of Jacob.
Were you married? No.
Did you have children? Two – boy & girl.
What did you do for work? Carpenter – sheet rock.
Are you sad or lonely? Not now.
Are you in any pain? Not now.
Do you know what year it is? 1971.
Do you know where you are? My old house.
What year were you born? 1937.
Where did you grow up? Rockville.
How did you die? Baseball bat to the skull.
Were you religious? Yes.

We tried to find something compelling to help pass him through the light. Darlene asked him a few more questions.

Do you want us to get you unstuck? Must make sure they don’t hurt [client].
Do you miss your parents? They died years back – we were distant.

He went on to say that he needed to stay and protect the client’s father, who rarely left the basement.

Darlene and I attempted to reassure him that the men who killed him were long gone, and would not be returning. He obviously also knew about Jacob, and we reassured him that he was gone as well. I asked him if he felt better than before, and he told Crystal that he did. We hoped this would be enough to convince him to go through the light.

But he still believed the men who killed him were alive. Explaining that it happened 37 years ago didn’t work. I told him that there was no one living in the house that was there when he was alive. It didn’t matter –he was insistent on protecting the client from these men. The client then spoke up, and told him that she was fine and didn’t need protecting. I then explained how he had gone off track, and was supposed to have gone through the light. And finally we told him that he was adversely affecting the client’s father, as neither of them would leave the basement.

That did it – he agreed to go through the light. Giving him the option of helping him with this, we asked him if there was anyone he missed. The only answer Crystal received was his daughter, Suzy.

The light was in front of a wall in a laundry room, over the washing machine. The easy part was having Matthew lead us to it. The hard part was getting Matthew to pass through it. He was aware that both of his children were still alive, and he was not particularly close to his parents. As we stood in front of the light, I wasn’t sure what was going to work.

I asked him to focus on his father.

He saw a beautiful sandy beach, with a man in the distance walking. He called to the man, who briefly turned around – only to turn back around and continue walking.

Well, that didn’t work.

I then had him focus on his daughter, Suzy. He called to her, and he was able to see a high-rise building, where she was around 20 floors up. He was afraid he would fall if he went through the light.

That didn’t work either.

Sara said, “Well, someone has to be the first.”

We couldn’t find a single person besides his kids that he felt deeply about.

He kept looking at the building. We thought about bringing him down to the ground level of the high-rise, but Crystal starting seeing a lake and a small cabin – a place that apparently Matthew loved to go.

We were flying by the seat of our pants – we were now thinking about having Matthew focus on the cabin, but then Crystal had an idea – just have him focus on feeling better while touching the light. She had discovered the light’s healing ability on several previous investigations, and felt this might work.

Matthew started putting his hands into the light, and immediately started to feel better. He stepped into the light completely, and Crystal could see him spinning around, revitalized and feeling great again.

Crystal and Julie then noticed the energy levels starting to drop.

He was gone.

But what about Alfred?
